Business as a Force for Good: About the #BCorp Movement and How You Can Join It

Every crisis consists of dangers and opportunities. This pandemic opened up a national conversation about making deliberate investments into clean energy to lead us towards a sustainable future. Systemic racism and growing income inequality are in the spotlight. The growing violence and outrage forces us to talk about economic justice. Our lives are in jeopardy and our financial future grows worse with every government stimulus package.

Since 2006, the B-Corp movement has been working toward restructuring how for-profit companies orient their economic activities. It is also building a thriving network of purpose-driven companies with explicit goals about their impact on the communities they are serving. There are good reasons to pay attention now as we are all reorienting ourselves to recover from the current disruption.

Please join us in conversation with Carolina Miranda (Cultivating Capital) and Janae Lloyd (World Centric) to learn more about how we can contribute to, and benefit from, taking part in that movement. It starts small in our own businesses. And we can create larger ripple effects in conversation with our clients. We can take meaningful action as the larger forces in the world duke things out.

You can expect answers to the following questions:

  • What’s a B Corp and B Corp ecosystem?
  • Why do I care as a consultant?
  • What are practical things I can do as a solopreneur?

Instead of getting frustrated by the news and the efforts to return to the status quo pre-pandemic, join us in a conversation about a better future, one where you can make a difference starting today. This is a growing movement and is becoming a force to be reckoned with.
